The Social Aspects of Gaming

March 10, 2019 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

Recently, our list of Rolling for Change projects has been growing and I believe that we are building some momentum. We have a ton more podcasts in the works, we are working towards doing some Twitch streams, and we are working to get invited to several gaming conventions. I am pretty excited about our growth and I am certainly excited that you dear listeners are joining us for this wacky adventure of discovery we are on.

This episode is a brief exploration into the social aspects of gaming and how those games bring us together, and perhaps at times even serve to create distance between us. Josue and I are not the final answer, but I believe we uncover a number of hidden things that will be of interest to all of you and to our hobby as a whole.

Stay tuned for the next episode when Brian, Josue and I are joined by Ginger and Suzi to discuss the ways that games enhance intimacy.

Keep Rolling, and Keep Changing

Life Simulation Games

February 17, 2019 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

This year is going to be an amazing year for our little podcast. You will see more regular content, twitch streams, and potentially live shows at gaming conventions.

That said, I am very excited to offer this deeper discussion of life simulation games. Brian, Josue and I discuss the values and reasons behind life simulation games. We discuss tabletop gaming and computer games both. I hope you will enjoy this journey.

Best wishes, keep on gaming, and keep on Rolling for Change.

In this episode of Rolling for Change, Brian and Woody discuss how conflict plays a role in our game experiences and how we respond to that conflict. This will likely be one of many discussions about conflict, but its a start. Please let us know any areas of conflict you would like us to address in the future. Returning from Pax Unplugged

March 27, 2018 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

#16: Coming home after Pax Unplugged was not a let down. I felt my soul battery recharge while we were there. So by the time I got to sit down with Josue and Brian again, I was still giddy and excited about our experience. So this is the episode in which we, your humble hosts geek out about Pax Unplugged. About 3/4 of the way through, you will notice the absence of Josue…he had to go so we carried on.

Anyway, enjoy this episode and let us know your thoughts, especially if you also came from Pax Unplugged with an experience to share.

Cheers,

Woody

Please complete our gamer survey

December 6, 2016 · Discuss on the Geek Therapy Forum

Hey guys,

Part of the work I want to do with Rolling for Change is to catalog gaming experiences. There is a survey that I have created that explores our relationships with games. It is the first such survey I have created so it is a little clunky, but the intent is to collect gaming experiences. If you choose to participate and you provide good data, you will be entered to win a gift card from Cool Stuff Inc so you can go and get more gaming experiences. The survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NZBPMDW

Also, while I have your attention. I just listened to a fantastic episode of a podcast called Nights at the game table. The guys did a fantastic job on developing an episode about the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund. It will pull at your heart strings and you will be able to belileve that we as a community can do anything. Please go listen and support this podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/65262/443487-episode-2-jack

More episodes are coming so stay tuned. Thanks for listening. Please don’t forget to contact us at gamers@rollingforchange.com and follow us on twitter @rollforchange
